Weekend Recap: Wine & Design + Panthers Game

Sharing is caring!

In case this is your first time reading my weekend recap, check out the first one I shared here. This is a new series I started on my blog to keep myself accountable for my spending.

FRIDAY: Cycle Bar + Car wash

My Friday started quite literally at the crack of dawn. I woke up at 5:30 am for an early morning class at cycle bar. The ride was rough! It was my first time in weeks and the night before I went roller skating for with my friend for her birthday.

Needless to say, ya girl was hurting! But when it was over, I felt very proud of myself for getting up and keeping the commitment I made to myself when scheduling the class.

Afterward, I gassed up ($47) and grabbed a greasy McDonald’s breakfast. (Lol, don’t judge me) I suppose the breakfast hits differently when you’ve worked for it. When I made it home, I hit the shower and started my workday.

After work I had a quick meeting with my financial advisor. We chatted a bit on my plan for resuming my student loan payments. Ultimately, I’ve decided to make saving & rebuilding my emergency fund a priority for now.

So, we’ll see what the remainder of this year brings then I’ll reevaluate things.

Lastly, I went to the car wash and vacuumed the inside of my car ($8). I ended the night watching Netflix while I cut out some new cash envelopes to stuff for the month of October.

SATURDAY: Wine & Design + Tuscan Blu

On Saturday, I celebrated my aunts 59th birthday. My mom and I met up with my cousins, auntie and her friends downtown.

We all painted this beautiful black queen. At Wine & Design, it’s BYOB and snacks. They play bomb music as you unwind, sip and paint with the people you came with.

We each paid $40, and my cousin provided the drinks and snacks. My mom and I went for the first time this past Mother’s Day and had a great time so it was really nice to be back.

We ended our evening with dinner at an Italian restaurant not too far away in Raleigh’s warehouse district.

At Tuscan Blu, I ordered the mushrooms, Caesar salad and pasta alla vodka. It was pretty good, and I had leftovers which I saved for dinner the following day.

SUNDAY: Carolina Panthers Game

On Sunday, I woke up early to meet my boyfriend and his best friend. We went to the Carolina Panthers game vs. the Minnesota Vikings.

This was my first time attending a professional football game and it was a fun experience but truthfully, I think I’d enjoy tailgating better.

I’m not much of a football fan but I’m still glad I went. We left the game early and I was pretty exhausted when we got home so I showered and spent my evening watching Queen Sugar.
