A Love Letter to My Younger Self

Dream Big Dreams

I never thought to write a love letter to my younger self. However, I reflect often and obviously write frequently. First, I have to acknowledge how far I’ve come in such a short amount of time. I’ve written down many dreams. Many of which scares me but, I would be doing myself and others a disservice if I didn’t dream big scary dreams.

I pray that I never tire or become too afraid to pursue all of my dreams. Although many of those big dreams have yet to come true and I haven’t yet crossed off my major life goals, I still have so much time, life, and more importantly faith. I pray that I continue to enjoy this season. I can not say how long I will be where I am but I do know that when it expires I cannot return to it. All I will have are these words I have written in this love letter to myself.

Do The Work

Not every day is going to be easy, in fact, there will be many hard days ahead. Though, do not give up. Somebody you do not even know is somewhere depending on you to do the work. Terri, please do the work. Not just for you, but her too…whoever she might be.

Those blogs and stories you wrote in school but never published prepared you for what you do now! Helping women reset for success and save for goals! Your page is growing and you have real influence! Focus on what’s important, be there for those people who love you. Pray and spend time with God so that you can weed out the people in your life that have a secret agenda and hidden intentions.

Guard Your Heart

Of course, what is a love letter to my younger self if I do not remind me to speak truth and love. Guard your heart, respect your body, and remember that you are valuable; worth more than gold or any other precious commodity. Stop saying, you don’t have a talent! You have many talents, you’re smart, you make people feel special, you’re funny, creative, and your smile – regardless of how crooked (you think it is) light’s up every room you walk into.

Continue to evolve, don’t ever stop dreaming, and more importantly; you need to remember that Rome wasn’t built in a day. With patience, consistency, and alignment I promise everything will work out exactly the way it is supposed to according to God’s plan.

Love,

You
