How to live a luxurious lifestyle on a budget

Sharing is caring!

Everyone has their own idea of luxury. Many can agree that designer clothes, vacations, and fancy restaurants all qualify as luxury. However, the truth is it’s all subjective. Therefore, you can live a luxurious lifestyle on any budget. The secret to luxury is determining what makes your life the most comfortable. It isn’t necessarily the material things but more so the moments and how you spend them that hold the most value.

Enjoy Every Moment

Think about how you start your day. Does it begin with a cup of coffee? If so, are you really taking time to enjoy your coffee? Perhaps you’re just drinking it hoping it will help you wake up faster. I know because I’ve been there! But it’s amazing how much of the little luxuries in life are actually free. Make it a habit to embrace every single moment. This means doing nothing but sipping your coffee, tea, smoothie (beverage of choice) and repeating your affirmations as you prepare for your day. Having a set morning routine can help you achieve this little luxury.

Create your signature look

Regardless of how much money you might have in the bank, it’s never cute to spend simply because you have it. When you create a signature look, you are shopping with purpose. This means that you are taking time to develop a wardrobe that reflects you as an individual. When it comes to luxury, it’s not always about having fast fashion. These trendy looks will be forgotten in 6 months. Luxurious women are remembered for their signature look. You don’t have to spend a fortune on clothes but it’s important to purchase pieces you know you will wear. Having a few quality pieces that cost a bit more will actually save you in the long run because you will not constantly be spending money on cheap materials that either tear or fade in the wash.

Be picky with your time

Your time is expensive honey! The biggest asset you can’t get back is time. Therefore, you need to be selective with how and who you spend it with. Always make time to take care of yourself. This could mean running a hot bubble bath, giving yourself a facial, or simply resting. This hustle culture has us believing that you must be go, go, go all the time. However, that can be incredibly taxing on your mental health and overall, well-being. Normalize rest and prioritize more “me time”.

Declutter your space

Notice how fancy hotels and venues always have clear open space? Well, you can recreate that same aesthetic at home by tossing old junk. Keeping your space clean also increases productivity and helps keep you motivated. Projects like these can seem overwhelming but this doesn’t all have to be done at once. You can start small and once you gain a bit of momentum tackle the larger areas in your home. The goal is to always have a clean home and room to make space for the things that will make your life more comfortable. Afterall, that’s what luxury is all about!

Maintain quality relationships

It’s always better to enjoy life’s luxuries with other people. You should make an effort to maintain quality relationships with peers, relatives or love prospects. This means you need to reach out and check on people. Catching up over lunch or inviting people over for dinner parties is a fun inexpensive way to maintain quality relationships. Expanding your reach and putting yourself out there is a great way to level up in general.

It truly doesn’t matter how much money you make. A luxurious lifestlye is about maximizing comfort. You don’t need a million dollars in the bank to achieve this, but you do need to be intentional with your time. You need to create habits that will build a better you.
