Friends are soulmates too and it’s nothing like a good girl’s trip to the city that never sleeps.
Though, this wasn’t just any girl’s trip. One of my friends is getting married so the gang and I took on the big apple.
In the three short days we were there celebrating her bachelorette weekend, we saw and did so much.
In this blog post, I’ll be sharing some of the highlights from our trip! Let’s get into it…
DAY 1: Taking on Time Square
We flew into Newark and took the train into the city. Our hotel was in the heart of Time Square so after dropping off our bags we made our way to Chelsea Market.
This place had a lot of food options. I decided to get the bento box from Takumi Taco, a Mexican and Japanese fusion restaurant.
I was expecting the food to be hot, but it was actually prepared and meant to be eaten cold –
unexpected but still good. Here I spent ($14.75).
Just across the street was a Starbucks Reserve. I love Starbucks so I was excited to try the espresso martini flight ($27).
It was very strong and some flavors I enjoyed more than others. Nonetheless it was a 10/10 experience.
Afterward, we headed to Hudson Yards to check out the vessel and do a bit of shopping. I ended up purchasing a sweater vest from Aritzia for ($78) bucks.
Totally worth it. Planning to pair it with the denim skirt I recently got from Madewell.
After we finished shopping, we headed back to the hotel room and freshened up before going back out to get some pizza and watch street shows in Time Square.
DAY 2: Statue of Liberty + Ellis Island
We woke up early and headed to Liberty Bagels for breakfast. I ate that with some freshly squeezed orange juice on the way to the Subway.
At The Statue of Liberty, we were only able to visit the pedestal but we still had a great time taking in all of the views.
After we toured the monument and visited the museum, we went to Ellis Island and read about the journeys of people who immigrated to America.
When we left the island we made it to Battery Park and walked through the Financial District before finally stopping for an early dinner.
We all ordered ramen, but I ended up sending my food back because I did not like it. It was my first time trying it so at least now I know that about myself!
A few of the girls got ice cream and I ended up getting food from an Irish pub later in the evening. We ended day 2 at a Latin nightclub.
DAY 3: Luxury Spa Experience
For our third and final day we slept in a little bit before doing some vintage shopping in Dumbo. I ended up finding a beautiful red coach purse ($70) that was in great condition.
We took some fire pictures by the Brooklyn Bridge then had lunch at Slutty Vegan before taking the ferry to Governor’s Island to the spa at QC NY.
This was the absolute perfect way to unwind after a successful girl’s trip to New York.
For ($124) you can enjoy a relaxing oasis with steam rooms, saunas, outdoor pools and more. All of this is accessible plus you will be able to take in breathtaking views of the city!
More than worth it. I’m feeling grateful for these moments and memories.
